Offseason work

Our project is in the middle of our offseason; we've written a report on some of our work that will appear in the journal Sudan & Nubia. A little plug for this journal--it's the best way to find out about the latest archaeological work in Sudan, it's in color, and it costs $28 per year. You get it by becoming a member of the Sudan Archaeological Research Society.

But also making exciting plans for this coming season--a focus on the medieval village, some exploration of new buildings that we've identified but haven't excavated yet...stay tuned!

  1. Do you believe that civilization spread along the Nile from people who originated in The Mountains of the Moon (Rwenzori Mountains) and source of the Nile. Therefore, the Egyptians received their culture and religion from the Sudan and the people of Sudan received their culture and religion from ancient people of Uganda, Congo and Tanzania where the Mountains of the Moon are located. Egyptian hieroglyphics indicate that they originate at the source of the Nile, Mountains of the Moon. The Egyptians owe their culture and religion to Kush. When the Egyptians started drifting away from the culture and religion that they learned from the Kushites, that is when they were invaded by Pianhky.
